On a Saturday, you sit in a classroom in Shibuya, or in front of a screen at home. Through lectures in Japanese, you think the five areas of management through, drawing them close to your own business. Whatever you do not understand, you can ask there and then, in Japanese. And then you write that understanding through in English.
Before long, something remarkable happens. You find you have the habit of reading research papers the way you read the newspaper, and you begin to notice yourself writing in a world-standard form. The boundary line of yesterday's self is quietly redrawn. The more you take on, the more irresistibly interesting studying becomes — and that time goes on.
And at the end, you complete a 15,000-word dissertation on a management theme of your own choosing, in English, with a supervisor from the University. What remains in your hands when you have seen it through is not only a degree certificate. The evidence and words to move your own business, and a boundary line redrawn — that is what this challenge truly gives you.

Entry guidelines
This programme is for practitioners who stand in the field of management and are trying, on the front line of change, to decide on their own responsibility. The guidelines for applying are as follows.
A bachelor's degree and at least two years of management experience. Or at least five years of management experience.
For those without a bachelor's degree, there is a route through at least five years of management experience, together with evidence of the ability to study at postgraduate level. We recommend entry for those with English above a certain level — we share the guideline at the individual consultation.

From entry to the start of learning: four steps
STEP 1: The individual consultation
The step in which, while hearing about the business you are moving, we explain the calendar from your month of entry to completion, and the fees, using the materials we have prepared. You can choose online or in person (Shibuya).
STEP 2: Formal entry
You submit the required documents in the prescribed way and make your formal entry. At formal entry, an application fee of ¥33,000 (tax included) is payable.

STEP 3: Admission assessment
Together with the motivation you shared at the individual consultation, admission is assessed in the UK on the basis of the career history you submit. With the result, your month of entry and your study plan are confirmed.
STEP 4: Payment of fees and the start of learning
Once fees are paid, Class students receive the lecture schedule and the materials, and Solo students receive the materials and details of their dedicated tutor — and your learning begins.
Class intakes are in December, February, April, May, July, September and October. The first intake is December 2026.
Solo can begin at any time from December 2026, as soon as the procedures are in place.
Stage 2 (the university course) starts three times a year, in January, May and September — which start to plan backwards from can be worked out together at the consultation.
The road beyond connects like this. After you complete Stage 1, the application to the University is handled by us and Chestnut Education Group; from application to the completion of enrolment usually takes seven to ten working days. And then, on to the dissertation — within fifteen months in all is the guideline for completion.

A foreign education system can be hard to grasp. Before a decision of this size, resolve here everything that can be resolved.
Q1. What degree is awarded?
The International Master of Business Administration, awarded by the University of Wolverhampton. The University is a British university with origins in 1827; it is recognised in UK law as a degree-awarding institution (a Recognised Body), and is registered with the Office for Students (OfS), the regulator of higher education. It is a degree conferred under the British university system.
Q2. Is the University of Wolverhampton a national university?
To be precise, no. It is a university established under UK law, as a Higher Education Corporation, and it is registered with the Office for Students (OfS), the regulator of higher education in the UK.

Q3. Why is the programme divided into two stages?
Because it is designed on a progression route established in the UK. In Stage 1, you complete the EduQual Diploma in Business Management (SCQF Level 11), a qualification positioned within the UK's public qualifications frameworks. Completers become eligible to apply for the University of Wolverhampton's university course (the dissertation course), and Stage 2 is delivered and assessed directly by the University. On completion, the degree is awarded.
Q4. Is there a way to check the University and the degree for myself?
Yes. Anyone can verify the University of Wolverhampton's registration on the official register of the Office for Students (OfS) — the check-point officially signposted by GOV.UK, the UK government's website. How to check, and the grounds for it, are set out on the University page.
Q5. Is the learning all in English? Is there support in Japanese?
Your assignments and your dissertation are written in English. In Class, you understand the five areas of management in Stage 1 through lectures in Japanese, and write them through in English. In addition, the academic-skills coaching in Japanese (three sessions of two hours) gives you, in Japanese, the forms needed for postgraduate-level study — Harvard referencing, how to read research papers, and literacy in the use of generative AI.
Q6. What level of English do I need?
We recommend entry for those with English above a certain level. In Stage 2 especially, you complete your dissertation through repeated discussion in English with a supervisor from the University. Your English does not need to be perfect — we share the guideline at the individual consultation, matched to where you stand now.
Q7. Can I really reach completion while working?
It is designed for people who study while working. Class lectures are usually on Saturdays: one module a month, in three sessions of four hours. It is a hybrid of classroom and Zoom, and sessions you cannot attend are available as recordings. Stage 1 takes about eight months as standard, including marking (up to nine months), and Stage 2 about four to six months. Within fifteen months in all is the guideline for completion.
Q8. I would like to continue in English. What should I do?
For those who prefer to continue in English, there is Solo. Through self-study with English learning materials and a dedicated tutor in the UK, you progress at your own pace, complete the same Stage 1 as Class (EduQual Diploma in Business Management), and become eligible to apply for the same university course. Q9. What do the fees include?
They include the Stage 1 learning materials, the Stage 2 dissertation (15,000 words, written under a supervisor from the University), handling of and support with the application to the University, and the academic-skills coaching in Japanese (including literacy in the use of generative AI). Class includes the lectures in Japanese; Solo includes the dedicated tutor in the UK. The totals are ¥2,280,000 for Class (enrolment fee ¥500,000 / tuition ¥1,780,000) and ¥1,880,000 for Solo (enrolment fee ¥500,000 / tuition ¥1,380,000), both including tax and paid in a single payment, with an application fee of ¥33,000 (tax included) payable separately. Study books, costs such as resits and extensions that arise depending on results, and travel and attendance costs should you attend the graduation ceremony in Britain are not included.
Q10. Do I need to go to Britain for the graduation ceremony?
No. Attending is your choice. Should you wish, you can attend the annual graduation ceremony on the University's campus in Britain. You may also choose to receive your certificate by post. Whichever you choose, the degree conferred is the same.
Q11. How is admission decided?
Through the conversation at the individual consultation, we ask about your career and your motivation. After formal entry, admission is assessed in the UK on the basis of the career history you submit, together with the motivation you shared.
